Below we've listed the step by step application instructions to help you on your way. Please feel free to email us if you need more information on a particular application technique.


Step 1. Clean

Using an ordinary household cleaner, wipe away any dirt or residue then rinse and dry surface completely.

Step 2. Stick

Place your WORDS as ART graphic onto the surface where you would like it. Use small pieces of masking tape (or similar) to hold it in place and if possible use a builders level to line it up correctly.

Step 3. Peel

Using the masking tape as a hinge, life the WORDS as ART and remove the backing paper (leaving the letters on the application tape)

Step 4. Burnish

Cover a credit card (or similar straight edged surface) in a soft cloth and firmly rub down the entire surface of the application tape. * it is best to rub from the centre outwards to remove any air bubbles as you go.

Step 5 Peel (again!)

Bend back one corner and slowly peel the application tape away from the wall at a 45 degree angle. Smooth out any remaining bubbles or small lines.

FAQs - a few things to think about


  • Avoid using cleaners containing abrasives or alcohol
  • Clean gently using a mild detergent and soft cloth or sponge
  • When applying to newly painted walls, wait at least one week to avoid damaging painted surfaces
  • To remove, gently lift with a fingernail. Sometimes a warm hair dryer can help more stubborn lettering, or lettering which has been in place for a long time.
  • WORDS as ART are made of very thin pieces of vinyl and are therefore very delicate pieces of individual art so please handle with care.
